On 26 March 2015 the west front of the cathedral saw the addition of two new statuettes - those of the Queen and Prince Phillip.  The royal couple attended the unveiling ceremony.

The sculptor was Nina Bilbey.

The new figures were commissioned by the Friends of Canterbury cathedral, to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.  On the opposite side of the west door can be seen Phyffers' figures of Queen Victoria (the only other monarch to celebrate a Diamond Jubilee) and Prince Albert.
