Bee boles in War Memorial garden

The walls surrounding the Kent War memorial gardens provide plenty of examples of earlier bee boles – areas in the wall where a recess would provide protection for a bee colony.

As the images show, some have been filled in (presumably to strengthen the wall); some of the niches survive; and some of these in summer can be hard to spot amongst the flowers.
