Scroll pediment

A pediment is the triangular shape above a door or entrance. In a scroll pediment the ends of the sloping sides are shaped as a scroll, imitating paper or vellum.  Where the sloping sides show a scroll only at the top, they are sometimes known as swan-neck pediments.
