Dawson, Ralph M (in Research note on local fascists)

fascists-RES-v6

The release of MI5 secret files over recent years, together with release in 2015 (via Find My Past) of the 1939 ‘census’ have made it possible to piece together some of the lives of local members of the Fascist movement.

The following note focuses on three Canterbury members of the British Union of Fascists (BUF) who were interned as a result of their views and actions:  Ralph Dawson, Richard Bellamy, and Alfred Smith.  It is an enlarged version of an article that appeared in the Canterbury Times on 20 January 2016, with detailed references  to  source material.
