Split cusp (or Kentish tracery or Kentish cusp)

Description

A cusp is a pointed end where two curves meet.

Kentish tracery makes use of ‘split’ cusps which form a series of V-shaped openings.  Particularly found in Kent – best examples by far are at St Mary’s church, Chartham (see below).
